Thanksgiving 2012

Here is a quick card I made using the Flirty paper and a 6x6 die cut craft card from CTMH. My leaves, acorns and word "Thanksgiving" are all cut from my CTMH Cricut cartridges. Both Artiste (Thanksgiving pg 78) and Art Philosphy (leaves pgs 34, 56) (acorn pg 36) were used on this project. Adding a few embellishments and a bit of stamping and done! Very quick card. Click here to visit my site, grab some supplies and you can have this card done in no time. Enjoy!

Fall is here. . .already?!!

Happy Fall folks! This is the season we all get busy with family and events. As the end of the year approachs, life starts spinning faster and faster. Remember to grab a few moments to refresh yourself with creative endeavors. Give yourself a mental massage and join friends to craft a few cards and gift items to tuck away for later gift giving. In my next few posts, I will try to inspire you with examples of cute, fun projects and cards to bring your best creative self to the table while having fun.

If you are local, you can join me for my monthly workshops on the 3rd Sat of the month. Contact me to join in the fun - I would love to prepare a kit for you and save you a spot at the table. You will enjoy the time away from distractions as you craft. It's a win-win time.

Now, on to the examples of this months cards. The first one is an original design by me, the three others are inspired by my CTMH community of friends (I have modified a bit). All are cute and fun to put together.

Enjoy!

Inspiration...

Hello, thank you for stopping by my blog. My paper crafts are a combination of my own ideas, inspiration by other's, and happy accidents. I hope while scrolling through the photographs your creative spirit is sparked to create something fun. I use Close To My Heart products unless otherwise noted. Click here if you would like to order quality products that will help you make your creations turn out beautiful! Check out our special this month, a chance to get free stuff! Free is good.

These first few cards are made from retired products (except the stamp set Zoology below). My next post will be with currently available product.

Baby Shower Card using CTMH Zoology Stamp set.
I have seen several "chest of drawers" card ideas. I can not remember which site I saw this one. My interpretation is above. I free cut the onesie, used part of a scallop oval for the bib. the animals are stamped and cut out. The drawer fronts are a label cut on the cricut using CTMH's Art Philosopy cartrige.

This is a fun card I made using retired paper Splendor and the Smiles stamp set. This random stamping  technique can be used with any stamp set.

I needed a quick wedding card and the tin I purchased for the gift card was the perfect inspiration. Notice the embossed tin lid? Retired stamp set Piece of Cake was perfect.

Enjoy!

More Art!

Practice makes perfect right? So let's practice posting art.

This is a card I made last year using the bleach method. Credit goes to The Stamping Goddess Tresa Black for inspiration and my upline Linda Case for co-designing with me. This technique starts with white cardstock, colorized with ink, embossed with red embossing powder (heat set ) then applying bleach with a paint brush to get the white of the flower petals. All CTMH products used (except the  bleach :-) that was clorox.

New Art!

Roxy Valentine

I completed a new card design using CTMH Roxy paper, December SOTM, and my AP Cricut Cartridge. I created this card for a Mega Meeting with fellow consultants. I took this picture with my cell phone, emailed it to myself. Edited in Photoshop (had to delete background of my workspace. . .my creative process was showing. . .) added my watermark and then had to figure out the posting to my blog thing. I am still in the learning curve on posting pictures - and what a curve it is for me! Let me know what you think of my card.

This Saturday, my Club meets for our December meeting and we are doing one layout using the Glory to God stamp set, Dreamin bulk paper along with inks outdoor denim and desert sand. I will post pictures in the next few days, providing I can remember what I just did. . .  :-)

Cricut Wow!

Blog update! Stop the presses - er - texting - I have a blog update! I just discovered how to get Cricut Craftroom working on my computer! Yeah! Through trial and error and conversations with my upline Linda, I have cut my first shape from the computer directly to my Expression 2 machine! I am now comfortable with the decision to go the Cricut way. I resisted for several years because I thought I would want to design my own shapes etc and not have to rely on the "cartridge" limitations. Well, Cricut has flung open the doors and developed the online Craft Room. Add our CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge and I will have plenty of shapes to cut including fonts. Yep, this is good. Here is a quick picture of my first cut - gee, I wonder if I should frame it . . . . ?
Ashlyn's Alphabet "thanks" and my created 6 point star both created using Cricut Craftroom.
